WASHINGTON — The United States Postal Service reported new delivery performance metrics for the seventh week of the third quarter for fiscal year 2023 showing improved delivery performance across all mail categories. The average time for the Postal Service to deliver a mailpiece or package across the nation improved to 2.4 days.

WASHINGTON — The United States Postal Service (Postal Service) and United States Postal Inspection Service (Postal Inspection Service) today announced expanded actions to protect Postal employees and the security of the nation’s mail and packages as threats and attacks on letter carriers and mail fraud incidents have escalated concurrently with a national rise in crime. The Postal Service and Postal Inspection Service held a joint briefing for Congress members and staff on these efforts on May 11, 2023.

Effective July 1, 2023, we are revising Labeling List(s) L001, L002, L004, L005, L007, L008, L009, L011, L012, L015, L051, L201, L606, L607, and L801 to reflect changes in mail processing operations. Mailers are expected to label according to these revised lists for mailings that are inducted on or after the July 1, 2023, effective date, but no later than August 31, 2023, expiration date. The changes will be published in the Postal Bulletin, Issue #22626.
